Meg Brannagan, RN, BSN

Meg Brannagan is a registered nurse with over fifteen years of experience working in clinical care, including pediatrics, obstetrics, and general surgery. She has spent a significant amount of time working as a neonatal nurse in a Level III NICU, and has served the needs of ill and premature infants and their families through bedside nursing care and neonatal transport. Joey Bryant, DVM

Joey Bryant, DVM attended Texas A&M University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science before pursuing her career in veterinary medicine. She was employed as a veterinary technician for 2.5 years before attending veterinary school at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, Dr. Bryant practiced high quality, small animal veterinary medicine for several years as an associate before opening her own practice, Plum Creek Veterinary Hospital, in 2010.

Elizabeth Burton, RDMS, RVT

Elizabeth Burton is a registered diagnostic sonographer (RDMS) in the Abdomen/Small Parts and OB/GYN specialties. She also is a Registered Vascular Tech (RVT). Elizabeth has 24 years of practice in diagnostic medical sonography and 18 years of experience specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She is currently chief/staff sonographer for two private, busy OB/GYN practices in New Jersey. Additionally, Elizabeth is an experienced medical writer with published peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography as well as co-authoring a book on Prenatal Tests and Ultrasound: The Facts, published by the Oxford University Press.

Jody Carter, MS, CEM, NREMT-P

Jody Carter was first licensed as an EMT in 1998, as a Paramedic in 1999 and an instructor since 2005, during which time he has worked on ambulances in urban, rural, and suburban settings. He spent 4 years as a Disaster Manager for the American Red Cross and now serves as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for a series of hospitals across his home state of Arkansas.

Karen Ewing is a medical coding specialist working out of Madison, Wisconsin. She holds certifications as a certified professional coder, certified OB/GYN coder, and medical technologist. Karen has earned undergraduate degrees in biology, medical laboratory technology, and health care management.

Kelli Hansen has 18 years of experience as a registered nurse. Her professional experience spans 27 years and ranges from home health care to long-term care, acute care, case management and utilization review. Kelli holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing as well as a master’s degree in health care operations management. With over 25 years of experience in health information management, project management and information technology, Wendy James is passionate about improving health information for individuals and providers. Throughout her career, Wendy has experienced first-hand the transition from paper to electronic health records. Today she is a senior quality control engineer at a prominent software vendor in the Atlanta area. Wendy is responsible for ensuring quality software development for the document management business.

Dylan Jones, MS RD, CD, CES

Dylan Jones is a registered dietitian and clinical exercise specialist in the Pacific Northwest. He works in long-term care and bariatric settings, helping radically change the health of patients through whole food interventions and reducing reliance on medications. He also partners with private business owners to launch health programs around the globe. Dylan’s mission is to re-cultivate the philosophy that food and exercise are medicine.

Lee Kehoe, MS, LMHC, NCC

Lee Kehoe is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York. Lee has a private practice and works with a diverse set of clients, providing individual, couples, and family counseling as well as conducting mental health evaluations. She consults with an agency that provides mental health counseling to residents within a wide range of skilled nursing, assisted living, and rehabilitative facilities. Along with counseling, she also trains facility staff on mental health conditions and behavioral management approaches. Lee earned a B.S. degree in brain and cognitive science, a B.A. degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in mental health counseling.

Don Lindamood, RN

Don Lindamood is a registered nurse who began his work in Health Information Technology (HIT) in the early 90s. In 2006, a master’s degree in the field of HIT was conferred to Don from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Don’s love of travel and his HIT background are symbiotic.

Kelley Madick, PMHNP

Kelley Madick became a family psychiatric nurse practitioner in 2008. She currently teaches nursing at Kaplan University. She earned her RN degree from the Huron School of Nursing in 2006. While working as a psychiatric nurse in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Kelley continued her education at the University of Phoenix and received a master’s degree in nursing. She has worked at inpatient mental health facilities as well as in community mental health programs. Kelley specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry, but has also worked on dementia units and in acute care.

Dr. April McDowell is a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFT) in Maryland and has worked with individuals, couples, and families since 2005. Her private practice launched in May 2014 in the Washington, D.C. area. She specializes in working with Gen Xers and Millennials seeking individual and couples therapy for self, relationships, and career issues.

Lilla Dale McManis, PhD

Dr. Lilla McManis has been a psychologist for the past 20 years. She holds a PhD in educational psychology, a master’s degree in special education, and a bachelor’s degree in child development. Over the course of her career, Dr. McManis has worked directly in the K-12 school system, in universities, in state government, and in private industry. Currently she is President & CEO of Parent in the Know and Early Childhood Research Solutions, where she focuses on the assessment of children in the areas of intelligence, achievement, and social-emotional functioning and the feelings, attitudes, and behaviors associated with effective parenting.

Amy Painter, NP

Amy Painter is a board certified family nurse practitioner/nurse educator who has worked clinically in healthcare for the past twelve years, with a wide variety of experience. Amy has served as faculty at a university college of nursing and currently maintains a full-time role in clinical practice. Over the last five years, her practice focus has been pediatric airway and upper GI disease, otherwise known as aerodigestive disease. Her credentials include a BSN, a BS in Applied Sociology/Nutrition, and a master’s degree in nursing.

Dr. Erika Price has a PhD in Social Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, and serves as an instructor at North Park University and The Chicago School for Professional Psychology. A recent Postdoctoral Research Associate, Erika has studied Open-Mindedness and Political Tolerance with support from the John Templeton Foundation.

Katherine Rush, PT

Katherine Rush graduated from the University of Missouri in 1998 and has spent the last 17 years working as a physical therapist in a variety of healthcare settings. For the last 10 years she has focused on the development of programs related to pelvic health in men, women and children.

Holli Sowerby, EdD, RN

Holli Sowerby is an assistant professor of nursing at Weber State University. Her research interests include the perceptions of graduates regarding laboratory simulation experiences and the effectiveness of simulation.

Anne Tamkin

Anne Tamkin is a licensed aesthetician specializing in advanced medical skincare treatments. She graduated from University of Aesthetics and True U Advanced Esthetics Program, and attended Northern Illinois University. Before pursuing her career as an aesthetician, Anne served in the U.S. Air Force both at home and abroad.

Mary Ziegler

Mary Ziegler received her B.A. in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She attended the University of California Los Angeles for graduate school and received a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Pathology. Mary has over eighteen years of laboratory experience and has published fifteen journal articles. She is currently finishing her postdoctoral work at the University of California Irvine, where she studies tumor angiogenesis.
