The palmar digital arteries arise from the superficial arterial arch, which curves across the palm and lies distally in the lower part of the hand above the fingers. The palmar digital arteries supply blood to the portion of the hand just below the first row of knuckles, and divide into smaller arteries which supply the fingers.
