Menisci Cartilage

Crescent-shaped wafers of cartilage called the menisci are found between the femur and the tibia, and act as shock absorbers for the knee on the medial and lateral aspect. The transverse ligament of the knee connects the lateral meniscus to the medial meniscus on their anterior ends.
