Straight Sinus
The "straight sinus" is a channel for venous blood returning to the
heart. It is located in the brain stem, where it opens into the transverse
sinus on the side opposite in which the superior sagittal sinus
terminates. The straight sinus receives blood from the inferior sagittal
sinus, from the great cerebral vein and from the superior cerebellar
veins. A few fibrous bands cross below it.
