Joint Capsule of Hip

The joint capsule of the hip helps stabilize the hip joint (which is a ball-and-socket joint). The muscles, tendons, and ligaments here help hold the bones of the joint together. It is fibrous and thick and has three ligaments besides the labrum and ligamentum teres: the iliofemoral, ischiofemoral, and pubofemoral.
