Plantar Aponeurosis

The plantar aponeurosis is a dense layer of deep fascia on the sole of the foot. It is made up of fibrous connective tissue bands that stretch toward the bottom of the toes. It comes from the tuber calcanei’s medial process. The plantar aponeurosis maintains the foot’s medial longitudinal arch.
