Helping Children with Hair Loss Since 1992

Hair Club for Kids® helps children with hair loss by providing non-surgical hair replacement services, completely free of charge, for kids 6 to 17 years of age. We hope every child can be a kid and live carefree, without feeling self-conscious. HairClub’s goal is to help every child have the opportunity to do all the things children love to do without any restrictions due to hair loss.

We’d like to help every child but  hair loss is very unique. There are some conditions we are not able to help, so please call us to learn if your child is a good candidate for HairClub.

Understanding the Causes of Children’s Hair Loss

Rough brushing or pulling the hair into tight ponytails or braids can cause it to fall out.

Biotin and zinc are essential nutrients for healthy hair; a deficiency in either can result in hair loss.

Between three and six months of age, most babies have a bald spot from pressing against the crib or car seat.

Common Conditions That Cause Hair Loss
in Kids

This hair loss condition is caused by the body’s immune system attacking itself. It is characterized by round or oval patches of hair loss.

Hypothyroidism and other endocrine issues can cause hair loss in some children. Newborn hair loss can also occur as many babies lose their baby hair over the first few months before permanent hair replaces it.

Also referred to as ringworm of the scalp, tinea capitis is a condition that shows up as scaly patches of hair loss on the head.

Resulting from stress, trichotillomania is a condition characterized by hair pulling, picking, or rubbing.

This type of hair loss in kids can occur when sudden or severe stress interrupts the normal hair growth cycle.

Helping Children with Hair Loss
Feel Comfortable and Confident

Losing hair can be scary for kids, so we make sure they feel right at home. You and your child will meet with one of our professionally trained Hair Loss Specialists to determine what custom solution will work best. We’ll be there to support them and keep them looking hang-out-with-friends-ready as their needs change over the years.

HairClub FAQs

HairClub® accepts children into the program who are aged 6 to 17. When you come to HairClub, you’ll meet with licensed Hair Loss Specialists trained in hair loss to determine the best custom hair replacement system. As a child’s hair needs change throughout the years, we’ll be there to support them every step of the way.

Some hair replacement solutions may require one to shave a large portion of their hair in order to customize their look. It may not be an ideal solution for a child so please call to check eligibility to enter the program.

Our Hair Club for Kids program provides non-surgical hair replacement solutions, completely free of charge, to children that are eligible. We do not offer hair regrowth or hair transplant solutions for children.
