Matt Segar, MD, is a member of the Innerbody Research Medical Review Board and a cardiology fellow at the Texas Heart Institute.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

During his career thus far, Dr. Segar has conducted extensive research to explore how AI and machine learning could improve cardiovascular risk prediction and inform therapeutic approaches in treating heart failure. The American Heart Association declared him the winner of both the Sam Levine Young Investigator Award and the Heart Failure Data Challenge in 2022.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

Dr. Segar obtained his MD from the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he served as president of the medical student council. Previously, he earned his MS degree in bioinformatics from Indiana University Indianapolis. Dr. Segar completed his internal medicine residency at UT Southwestern in 2021.
